The organizers for the 2018 Emerald Cup announced their final lineup for the 15th annual iteration of the event which celebrates the cannabis industry’s growing culture through awards and special events. The Cup will be held this year from Saturday, December 15th through Sunday, the 16th at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California. Having partnered with the “Northern Nights Music Festival,” this year’s shows will include a variety of different artists across many genres including hip hop artist Xiuhtezcatl, Ardalan, as well as British DJ Breach. Additional musical acts that are scheduled to appear include Violin Girl, Captain Planet, Antibalas, Gogol Bordello, Mike Love, Margo Price, and many more cannabis friendly musicians and artists.
The Cup will be hosted by the hilarious and more often than not slightly stoned comedian, actor, and influential activist Doug Benson who will be joined by famed American comedian, musician, writer, actor, activist, juggler and publisher Ngaio Bealum. Also set to appear are film icons and avid cannabis enthusiasts Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes who will be recording a live edition of of their smash comedy SModcast, “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old” where the pair wax philosophical about being aging stoners in Hollywood. Part of the festivities will also include honoring country music legend and cannabis lover Willie Nelson during a special ceremony that will be held on Sunday, the 16th from 3pm to 4:30 pm.
Originally organized back in 2003, the Emerald Cup was conceived as a way to promote the idea of organic and sustainable cultivation of some of the finest sun-grown organic cannabis on the planet and has rightfully earned a solid reputation as one of the most famous, largest, as well as most respected cannabis competitions in the world. Tim Blake, Founder and Producer of the Emerald Cup said: “With the Cup just around the corner, this year’s lineup continues to expand into what has become a diverse group of highly respected musicians…We’re also proud to welcome so many talented individuals joining our roster of speakers, glass artists and vendors, and hope that every single one of our festival attendees can take advantage of all the resources we’ve made available for both cannabis enthusiasts and newcomers alike.” about this year’s festival.
Aside from its diverse lineup of musical acts, this year’s festival will focus on numerous presentations from noted artists, experts, and educators in the cannabis space. Attendees will also be able to interact with a plethora of exhibitors and retailers offering food, products, and entertainment. Tickets for this year’s Emerald Cup are available for purchase through their website or through retailer Eventbrite at a starting rate of $120 for weekend passes and please note that you have to be 21 or older to be able to attend.
