I like art a lot and I think that weed has played a larger role inspiring artists overtime than people really know or that artists are willing to admit. Hey, it’s Christine Sclafani again for The National Marijuana News and I read this super cool story about a painter named Richard Prince that has been around since the 80’s.
He has been developing art for High Times for a while now and it looks very weed inspired. According to the story, Prince just recently found his love of marijuana again after nearly 30 years of abstaining. If you look at his pieces, which I would describe as being a Basquiat-esque neo-expressionism style, they look like he must have been stoned when he put his brush to the canvas.
He has an exhibit up right now in San Francisco at the Gagosian gallery called “High Times” and he has even launched his own strain of weed called, Katz + Dogg. Supposedly at the launch party guests could sample his new strain of weed which features his art on the packaging. You can find out more about his new strain at KatzandDogg.com, that’s with 2 gs.
