Legendary comedian Joan Rivers died in a New York hospital this afternoon, a week after suffering cardiac arrest during a medical procedure.
Her daughter Melissa said, “She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends. My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”
Rivers had been on life support, but was taken off after she stopped breathing. She had been undergoing a minor elective procedure when she suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest.
While she was living, Miss Rivers also didn’t hide the fact that she used marijuana. In fact, she smoked pot on an episode of her reality TV show, “Joan and Melissa”.
On behalf of the entire staff of The National Marijuana News, we send our condolences to the incomparable Joan Rivers and her family.
