Infused Caramel Sauce

infused caramel sauce

Infused caramel sauce is great for so many uses! Personally, I love some over ice cream or in my coffee. Coffee with a spoonful of infused caramel sauce is a great way to start the day. Ice cream with infused caramel sauce is a great way to end it! Ingredients 1 cup sugar ½ cup heavy cream 3 Tbsp. cannabutter (click for recipe) 1 tsp. vanilla extract ½ tsp. kosher salt Cook sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, without stirring, until it begins to melt and turn golden brown around the edges. Use a heatproof spatula to stir to blend the melted sugar into unmelted sugar. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until all sugar is melted turns a deep amber color, about 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and slowly add cream to melted sugar, stirring constantly (mixture will bubble vigorously and seize). Add butter and stir until melted. Once melted and blended, stir in vanilla and salt. Let caramel cool slightly (5-10 minutes). Transfer to an airtight container and let cool completely. Caramel can be made 2 weeks ahead. Cover and chill. Reheat over low before using.
