– 1 Cup water
– 1 Cup Apple Juice
– 1 whole star anise
– 1 whole cinnamon stick, cracked
– 8-10 ea nutmeg shavings
– 3 whole cloves, smashed
– 8 whole pink peppercorns
– 5 cardamom pods, cracked
– 1 Inch knub of ginger or 2T dried
– ¼ Cup HoneyBuzz
– 4 Tbsp loose leaf black tea
If you feel like you are running out of gas but still have a lot left on your plate, keep in mind that in only 20 or so minutes, you’ll be able to power your way through the rest of the day with the help of this particularly potent potable!
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, juice, whole spices, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from the heat. Let steep for 15 minutes or longer, depending on your desired potency. Return to the heat and bring to a boil. Add the tea, remove from the heat, and let steep for another 10 minutes Return to heat and boil one final time and strain out the tea and spices. If you’d like to make a regular batch of Chai, add the milk and serve immediately. To make the Chai iced tea cubes, let the mixture cool, then pour into an ice-cube tray and freeze. To make an iced chai latte, add 2-3 ice cubes to a glass of milk (about 1/4 cup of milk per cube). The tea will get stronger
