Hilarious Anti Marijuana PSA’s

6 Of The Most Absurd PSA's Regarding Cannabis

Looking for a good laugh and a stroll down memory lane? Check out these hilarious anti marijuana PSA’s from the 1980’s through the 2000’s for a glimpse into the minds of some marketing geniuses that seem to have no idea how to get their message across to kids without treading heavily into the realms of condescension and absurdity. From mutant turtle martial arts enthusiasts telling kids to stay away from drug dealers, telepathic and judgemental dogs calling their owner out on their drug use, to surgeons toking up right in the middle of the operating room during surgery, it’s not difficult to see why these silly anti drug campaigns were not taken seriously even by young children.

Ironically enough, studies have shown time and again that these types of campaigns can end up having the opposite effect by making kids even more curious about trying marijuana. Be sure to follow the link below for a few more PSA’s that are so bad that they are almost good!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Say No to Drugs Advert

What better way to communicate a message to children than to use their favorite cartoon characters. This 90’s PSA not only included the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but it also features some questionably rolled joints and juvenile name calling. Someone needs to show that drug dealer how to roll a joint.

The age demographic of this ad seems absolutely unrealistic, seeing as these children look too young to even cross the street by themselves. Besides, are these turtles really fit to be giving such advice? They seem to always acquire the munchies.

Melting Into the Couch

While the term “melting into the couch” can be true for some while high on marijuana, this commercial goes above and beyond depicting the feeling of being stoned.

Yes, one may begin to feel quite lazy while under the influence, but it’s very unlikely that they will become unresponsive and deflated while riding the high out.
