One Unlucky Pup
David Wiliams enjoys taking his dog, Holly, out for walks in their quaint Calf Heath Reservoir community near Cannock. Their walks are usually uneventful, but lately Holly seems to have a nose for finding nugs.
Holly had her first run in with weed when she found a half-smoked joint in the park and promptly ate the joint. Her owner quickly took her to the vet where she was administered medications.
Williams had to face the same problem again a few months later when his dog found some loose cannabis leaves beneath a bench and got the munchies once again. Despite frequent trips to the vet, Holly is still “laid back” by all accounts.
Hopefully, Holly won’t be asking her owner how can you hit a cartridge with a lighter anytime soon!

Why So Much Careless Cannabis Disposal in the UK?
Cannabis laws are pretty behind the times in the UK. Even though cannabis is still illegal on the federal level in the US, it’s nevertheless legal in some states. There’s nowhere in the UK where you can enjoy weed without fear of legal consequences.
There’s currently no legal way to consume cannabis in the UK. This means no legal edibles and no legal way to learn how to hit a cart with a lighter.
This means that individuals who use cannabis products for recreation, and even for medical purposes, still need to do so and secrecy. We know all too well that when people are forced to smoke in secret, they also have to take more risky behaviors. This includes ditching their weed instead of properly disposing of it or just saving it for later.
What to Do When Your Dog Eats Cannabis?
There’s one thing that you should do when your dog eats cannabis and that’s take them to the vet.
It can be tempting to wait it out and see what happens, but you might not notice health problems with your dog right away. Your vet can provide your dog with help quickly and ensure that your dog doesn’t experience too many negative problems. Cannabis products can be hard on a dog and lead to some pretty serious health problems if the dog consumes too much cannabis.
Is Weed Bad for Dogs?
We should also take a closer look at whether or not cannabis is good for your dog. We need to stay up front that cannabis is not good for your dog. This means that you shouldn’t be feeding your dog any extra flour, blowing smoke in its face, or feeding them edibles.
Dogs are much more sensitive to THC and other cannabinoids when compared to humans. This means that they’re going to metabolize cannabis differently and it’s going to have a much more extreme perfect on your pop. This can include nausea, irritability, and even more serious health problems.
Edibles are particularly a problem because they can contain chocolate and other ingredients that are very dangerous for dogs.
Remember, if your dog eats cannabis, you should head to the vet right away.
