Chicago’s First Dispensary

A new first for medical marijuana as Dispensary 33 opens their doors and allows the sale of legal cannabis for the first time in the Windy City.

The store opened Wednesday in Andersonville and becomes the first medical marijuana dispensary in Chicago.

Located in the 5000-block of N. Clark, Dispensary 33, hopes to help patients statewide that deal with different aliments daily. One of the stores owners says they’ve already had 150 registered patients come by and make a purchase.

During the programs first month the state of Illinois estimated sales of $800,000-worth of medical marijuana.

Wholesalers have already paid $56,000 in taxes to the state.
