Arcview remains one of the most powerful companies in the marijuana industry. Recently, The Weedblog reported that they named their most valuable member, Leslie Bocskor.
Leslie Bocskor is an investment banker and entrepreneur focused on the emerging legal cannabis industry. He is the Founding Chairman of the Nevada Cannabis Industry Association and Managing Partner of Electrum Partners, and is working with some of the biggest players in the industry to develop strategies to quickly expand the market for legal cannabis in the U.S. and beyond. He has been featured in news sources such as USA Today, Washington Post, Fortune, Reuters, and Fast Company, as well as being named one of the 100 most influential people in the cannabis industry by Cannabis Business Executive.
As a long time investor, he has a history of success working in early stage disruptive trends and technologies, beginning with Internet and new media properties in the late nineties. Since then he has been involved in life science, cybersecurity and Internet gaming projects.
In his role as Founding Chairman of the Nevada Cannabis Industry Association he is bringing time-tested practices from the financial markets and his entrepreneurial experience to assure Nevada’s industry is an example to be emulated worldwide.
As a member of the ArcView Angel Investor Network he has been mentoring cannabis companies for their presentations at investor meetings, is part of the selection committee, and has been a regular speaker or panelist at the ArcView events.
The Weedblog Reports:
Leslie Bocksor is one of the most impressive people I have ever met. And I’m not saying that just because he has the raddest facial hair of all time. I’m saying that because he truly cares about social justice, and about helping others succeed in the cannabis industry. That’s a rare combination in the marijuana world. A lot of people are out to just line their pockets, and don’t care how many people they step on in the process (I’ll be writing an article on that topic soon).
Leslie has an impressive resume, although admittedly, I’m still learning all of what all he does! But what I have learned so far is stellar. I think a lot of people think of Leslie as an investor, but based off of what I have researched and read, it sounds like he actually builds cannabis business platforms to help cannabis businesses succeed. I don’t have direct discussions with people about investing for various reasons, so I could be off a bit on my knowledge of Leslie from a business perspective, but it seems that he serves more as a mentor to people in the cannabis industry, which is something that is desperately needed in this growing industry. So many people just want to take advantage of others, rather than trying to build them up. I know that’s been my experience, and I know that I’m not alone.
